Over 15 very fast rounds, Salavarria (111) earned the decision against Hanagata (111½) in a return bout that was called for after their first go ended in a riot. The challenger was the main aggressor and in general made the running, but Salavarria showed an excellent defence and countered well to tot up the points, occasionally breaking out in two-fisted fashion to catch the eye of the judges.
