1976-04-03 Alfonso Zamora w co 2 (15) Eusebio Pedroza, Calafia Bullring, Mexicali, Mexico - WBA. Referee: Octavio Meyran. Despite carrying a five-inch reach advantage into the ring, Pedroza (117¾) was unable to utilise it after the champion attacked him from the opening bell to leave him reeling from a series of left hooks. Although Pedroza made a fast start in the second round, Zamora (117½), seen to be cut on the left side of his face, soon caught up with him, a left hook sending the Panamanian crashing down to be counted out on the 0.73 mark.
