1976-06-30 Miguel Velazquez w disq 4 (15) Saensak Muangsurin, Sports Palace, Madrid, Spain - WBC. Referee: Abraham Echevarria. Starting strongly, Muangsurin (139) was quickly in control of the contest. However, with Velazquez (136) prepared to mix it with the hard-hitting southpaw champion a quick ending was being predicted. After Velazquez was dropped in the second and third rounds for mandatory ‘eight’ counts it seemed all over bar the shouting, but the finish when it came was not quite the one that was expected. With both men slugging away, Muangsurin smashed in a low left hook immediately following the bell to end the fourth, and with Velazquez lying prostate on the canvas and out to the world the Thai was disqualified.
