1976-09-10 Esteban DeJesus w co 7 (15) Julio Hector Medina, Loubriel Stadium, Bayamon, Puerto Rico - WBC. Referee: Rudy Ortega. Fighting tooth and nail from the opening bell, the champion went after the taller Medina (135) with a view to negating his puching power and a left hook to the body took all the steam out of the latter towards the end of the sixth. Medina was always dangerous, but now he was under pressure as DeJesus (135), came out for the seventh and following an incessant two-fisted drubbing a left hook to the body saw the challenger counted out on the 1.45 mark.
