1976-10-27 [[Pipino Cuevas]] w rsc 6 (15) [[Shoji Tsujimoto]], Jissen Rinri Stadium, Kanazawa, Japan - WBA. Referee: Carlos Berrocal. The challenger started well, utilising his southpaw style and added reach to make life difficult for Cuevas (145¾) during the opening five sessions as he flicked in jabs and moved out of distance. It was only in the sixth that Cuevas picked it up and he dropped Tsujimoto (146¾) with a left to the temple before putting the latter down again twice more in the session to invoke the three knockdowns in a round ruling for the second fight running.
