1976-10-27 [[Pipino Cuevas]] w rsc 6 (15) [[Shoji Tsujimoto]], Jissen Rinri Stadium, Kanazawa, Japan - WBA. Referee: Carlos Berrocal. The challenger started well, utilising his southpaw style and added reach to make life difficult for Cuevas (145¾) during the opening five sessions as he flicked in jabs and moved out of distance. It was only in the sixth that Cuevas picked it up when dropping Tsujimoto (146¾) with a left to the temple before putting the latter down again twice more in the session to invoke the three knockdowns in a round ruling for the second fight running.
