1977-04-02 Saensak Muangsurin w co 6 (15) Guts Ishimatsu, Kuramae Arena, Tokyo, Japan - WBC. Referee: Larry Nadayai. Following a cautious start, the challenger began to take the fight to Muangsurin (139), flashing in stinging lefts to the head, before the latter came back strongly with southpaw lefts to the body in the next two sessions. By now Muangsurin was taking full advantage of his five-inch reach advantage and in the sixth, after throwing some heavy blows that seriously weakened Ishimatsu (140), he dropped him with a cracking combination to the body. Up at ‘nine’, Ishimatsu was immediately dropped again from a battery of body blows and counted out on the 1.56 mark.
