1977-08-06 [[Rocky Mattioli]] w co 5 (15) [[Eckhard Dagge]], National Hall, Berlin, Germany - WBC. Referee: Richard Steele. Getting straight on with the job in hand the much smaller Mattioli (154), throwing plenty of punches from both hands, stormed into the champion from the opening bell and began to dictate matters. As it was known that Dagge (152) was a slow starter there were no real worries initially, but when there was no response a few rounds later, other than a few wild right hands being thrown in the direction of Mattioli, there was some consternation. Ripping in blows from head to body, Mattioli would not be denied and in the fifth a terrific left hook to the jaw sent Dagge to the deck to be counted out in a sitting position at 2.20 of the session.
