1978-02-01 Soo-Hwan Hong w pts 15 Yu Kasahara, Kuramae Arena, Tokyo, Japan - WBA. Referee: Marty Denkin. Scorecards: 145-139, 145-139, 145-141. Although he was dropped five times in all, in the second, the fourth, the ninth, and twice in the tenth, Kasahara (121½) came right back, making up much ground as Hong (121¾) tired in the last third of the contest. Despite the knockdowns, and regardless of the fact that he continually looked destined to lose inside the distance against the two-fisted Hong, the challenger proved to be a stylish boxer at long range and game to the core.
