1978-05-06 [[Ricardo Cardona]] w rsc 12 (15) [[Soo-Hwan Hong]], Changchung Gym, Seoul, South Korea - WBA. Referee: Tony Perez. As the stronger hitter of the two, Cardona (120) soon put Hong (121) under pressure and eventually dropped him with a cracking left hook in the fourth. Although the champion battled back as best he could he had little success against the younger man and when he was being battered on the ropes non-stop in the 12th and was badly cut over both eyes the referee halted the contest on the 1.23 mark.
