9 June Carlos Zarate w co 4 (15) Emilio Hernandez, Caesar’s Palace, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - WBC. Referee: Ferd Hernandez. Assuming control in the second round after a slow start, Zarate (118) got his left hook going to drop Hernandez (116½) for the mandatory ‘eight’ count. Then, after a strong third session, he carried on where he left off in the fourth and a perfect left hook-right cross dropped the challenger against the ropes where he was counted out at 2.10. Hernandez had been a late replacement for Yung-Shik Kim.
