1978-11-10 Larry Holmes w co 7 (15) Alfredo Evangelista, Caesar’s Palace, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - WBC. Referee: Richard Greene. Making his first defence, Holmes (214) was far too good for the European champion, Evangelista (208¼), dominating each round with the left jab, picking the angles and smashing in solid rights whenever there was an opening. By round seven, Evangelista looked a sorry mess and after being set up by rights to the ribs and head another heavy right to the head sent him crashing to the floor with the count, completed at 2.14, being a formality.
