1978-12-30 [[Sang-Hyun Kim]] w co 13 (15) [[Saensak Muangsurin]], Munhwa Stadium, Seoul, South Korea - WBC. Referee: Carlos Padilla. There was no doubt that Kim (140) meant business as he matched Muangsurin (139½) in the opener before forcing his fellow southpaw on the defensive with solid, scoring punches. After a period of being outboxed the champion tried to step up the pace in the middle rounds, but found himself unable to land with the sweeping left hook as Kim defended tidily while looking to counter. By the 11th Muangsurin, who had fallen behind on points, was badly shaken up by a flurry of blows and in the 13th he was dropped by a looping left hook which left him flat on his back to be counted out. The time of the finish was 2.05.
