1979-03-23 Larry Holmes w rsc 7 (15) Ossie Ocasio, Hilton Pavilion, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - WBC. Referee: Carlos Padilla. Although the awkward Ocasio (207) set the champion a few problems early on, by the fourth round he was out of ideas after stinging left jabs began to set him up for solid rights. For the next couple of sessions Ocasio somehow weathered the storm, but in the seventh Holmes (214) picked it up and after just 30 seconds had the Puerto Rican over from a right uppercut followed by a left hook. On his feet after the mandatory ‘eight’ count, Ocasio was quickly set upon and after three further knockdowns the referee stopped the contest on the 2.38 mark.
