In a return match, Galindez (174¼) became the first light heavyweight to regain his title when Rossman (174¼) was retired at the end of the ninth round due to a broken right hand. It was a different fight this time round and after Rossman had been hurt by a left hook-right uppercut at the end of the fourth it was downhill from there onwards. Although he was cut above the right eye in the fourth, Galindez was able to shrug it off and dominated every round until the finish, scoring with solid lefts and rights to head and body as Rossman began to lose heart.
