1979-06-03 Sang-Hyun Kim w pts 15 Fitzroy Guisseppi, Changchung Gym, Seoul, South Korea - WBC. Referee: Abraham Echevarria. Scorecards: 146-142, 148-141, 146-140. Making a solid start, displaying superior hand speed, the champion floored Guisseppi (139½) with a sharp southpaw left to the jaw in the second, but was unable to follow up his advantage as the veteran fighter showed good defensive ability. After a period of superiority for the champion, from the middle rounds there was little between them, although Kim (139½) appeared to have an edge, but in the 11th he was dropped by a right smash and was lucky to be saved by the bell. The 12th saw Guisseppi going all out with blows to head and body, but Kim survived and in the final session it was his turn to drop the Trinidadian, who got up to make it to the gong.
