The hard-hitting Gushiken (108) showed his power in this one, dropping the inexperienced Abella (107¼) four times on his way to defending his title successfully for the tenth time. Several times it appeared that the Filipino was going out of the fight, but he bravely made it through to the seventh before a cracking right uppercut finally put him out of the contest on the 0.53 mark.
