1980-07-07 Larry Holmes w rsc 7 (15) Scott LeDoux, Metro Centre, Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - WBC. Referee: Davy Pearl. Although LeDoux (226) did his best he was no match for the champion, who fired in left jabs followed by stiff rights and left hooks with monotonous regularity. Finally, the tough LeDoux was dropped in the sixth, complaining that he had been thumbed in the eye. Back on his feet LeDoux managed to get through the round, but in the seventh with his left eye now swollen shut and with Holmes (214¼) almost using him a punchbag the referee brought matters to a halt on the 2.05 mark.
