1980-09-15 Rafael Orono w rsc 3 (15) [[Jovito Rengifo]], The Bullring, Barquisimeto, Venezuela - WBC. Referee: Zack Clayton. Defending the title against his fellow countryman, Orono (114¾) made an aggressive start for once and quickly took control despite Rengifo (113½) having height and reach advantages over him. The challenger was certainly more experienced and was considered to be the harder puncher of the pair, but by the end of the second session he was beginning to be overwhelmed by the ferocity of Orono’s attacks. Stepping the pace up even further in the third Orono eventually had Rengifo at his mercy after several all-out attacks, and with just four seconds of the round remaining the referee stepped in to halt what had become one-way traffic.
