1980-12-19 Lupe Pintor w pts 15 Alberto Davila, Caesar’s Palace, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - WBC. Referee: Carlos Padilla. Scorecards: 143-142, 146-142, 143-143. Coming back from the Johnny Owen fight, Pintor (118) took on another tough man in Davila (117½), the pair battling away until the final bell. It was hardly vintage Pintor, but the challenger had come to fight and posed him plenty of problems before going down on points. Davila, who was cut over the left eye in the 12th, had started strongly with solid punches from both hands while Pintor worked the body well and showed great accuracy, especially with the uppercut, when coming back to snatch victory from the fire.
