1981-05-30 Cornelius Boza-Edwards w rtd 13 (15) Bobby Chacon, Showboat Hotel, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - WBC. Referee: Carlos Padilla. Taking the best punches that Chacon (130) could throw, with the champion standing his ground by the tenth round he had worn the American down in what had been up until then a war. In the 11th Boza-Edwards (129½) began to come on strong, scoring at the rate of five to one, and with Chacon badly gashed over the left eye in the 12th there seemed no way back especially as he was being pounded almost at will. Somehow Chacon made it to the bell before managing to last out the 13th, but at the end of that round the referee was called over to his corner to be told that he was unable to continue.
