1981-06-25 Thomas Hearns w rsc 4 (15) Pablo Baez, The Astrodome, Houston, Texas, USA - WBA. Referee: Ken Morita. Having put up a spirited fight for three rounds despite being under constant pressure, the challenger finally began to crumble in the fourth as Hearns (147) opened up with his big guns. Swollen and cut around the left eye from the attention of stinging left jabs, Baez (144¾) soon began to be caught with heavy rights and lefts to head and body as Hearns went for the finish, and at 2.10 of the session the fight was halted with the Dominican slumped on the bottom rope. Both fighters were 6’1”, tall for welters.
