1981-08-01 Eusebio Pedroza w co 7 (15) Carlos Pinango, The Polyhedron, Caracas, Venezuela - WBA. Referee: Alner Spider Bynum. It did not take Pedroza (126) long to get up and running and he soon had his challenger under pressure and looking bewildered. As the contest wore on it became very one-sided, as Pinango (125¼) failed to make any kind of impression on Pedroza, who was always comfortably in control. The longer it went on the more Pinango suffered, and in the seventh round he was floored following a flurry of punches to the head. That was the beginning of the end and after getting to his feet, Pinango was counted out on the 1.38 mark, having taken a tremendous left to the liver region.
