1982-02-02 [[Davey Moore]] w rsc 6 (15) [[Tadashi Mihara]], Metropolitan Gym, Tokyo, Japan - WBA. Referee: Carlos Berrocal. For a man having his ninth pro fight, Moore (152¾) started with great confidence and was soon finding the champion with left jabs and heavy hooks from both hands. Although Mihara (153¾) came back strongly in the third with solid rights to the chin and the pair fought it out in the fourth, Moore came on in the fifth to drop his man with a right to the head before pressuring him for the rest of the round. In the sixth Moore really turned it on, and after knocking Mihara down three times the referee stopped the contest after 53 seconds of the session on the three knockdowns in a round ruling. Mihara had held the title for just 87 days.
