1982-02-13 Michael Spinks w rsc 6 (15) Mustafa Wasajja, Playboy Hotel, Atlantic City, New Jersey, USA - WBA. Referee: Tony Perez. Although the champion was unable to drop Wasajja (174½), he was always in control and never at any stage was it likely that the squat Ugandan southpaw could find a punch that could turn the fight his way. Wasajja was badly shaken in the in the fourth by lefts and rights to the jaw, as he was in the fifth, but when he was hit flush with a left hook in the sixth his legs turned to jelly. The referee gave Wasajja every chance, but with Spinks (173¾) driving him around the ring and throwing solid blows from both hands, with nothing coming back the fight was stopped at 1.36 of the session.
