1982-07-17 [[Davey Moore]] w rsc 10 (15) [[Ayub Kalule]], Bally’s Park Place Hotel, Atlantic City, New Jersey, USA - WBA. Referee: Luis Sulbaran. Cut over the left eye in the third round and behind on the cards, Moore (154) started to pick things up against his southpaw challenger from the fourth, and although hard fought he had matters in hand from there onwards. While there were no knockdowns it was clear that Moore’s punches were having the most effect, and in the ninth he was banging in rights and lefts that seemed to be draining all resistance from Kalule (154). At this stage Kalule looked a beaten man and after he was wobbled by a big right in the tenth, Moore continued to pour in punches until the former champion, who was not fighting back, was rescued by the referee with just two seconds of the session remaining.
