1983-05-18 Bruce Curry w pts 12 Leroy Haley, Dunes Hotel, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - WBC. Referee: Davy Pearl. Scorecards: 117-112, 115-114, 116-112. Looking to join his brother Donald as a world champion, the aggressive Curry (139) forced the fight from the start, being especially effective with the left hook after setting up the champion with the jab. The smaller of the two, Haley (140), scoring with solid punches to head and body, came back well in the middle rounds before giving way to Curry as he faded towards the end. The last two sessions were all Curry as he made up any lost ground to make sure of the verdict.
