1983-08-07 [[Hector Camacho]] w rsc 5 (12) [[Rafael Limon]], Hiram Bithorn Stadium, San Juan, Puerto Rico - WBC. Referee: Richard Steele. Fighting for the title that was vacated when Bobby Chacon was stripped, the southpaw Camacho (130) soon imposed himself on Limon (129½) when getting down to business with the jab and he dropped the latter with a left cross towards the end of the third for a count of ‘two’. Although Limon tried to get going in the fourth, the fast-moving, rapid-firing Camacho was too much for him and a barrage of blows had him wilting at the end of the session. Picking up in the fifth where he left off, Camacho, concentrating on the body, dropped Limon for ‘eight’ before punches to head and body sent the Mexican out of the ring and on to the apron. Although Limon made it back before the count was completed, Camacho set upon him immediately and the referee had no choice but to come to his rescue with just eight seconds of the round remaining.
