Forcing the fight with left hooks and right uppercuts Madera (107½) successfully defended his title against the man he had captured it from, as Tokashiki (107½) simply lacked the power to keep him at bay. There were no knockdowns, but Tokashiki was injured over the right eye from the eighth round onwards.
