Although the challenger made a great start, cutting Orono (115) over the left eye while landing solid punches in the process, the latter bounced right back in the second round to take control. After keeping Maldonado (115) at distance with hurtful jabs for several rounds, Orono upped the pace dramatically in the fifth and following two tremendous right-hand blows to the head the man from Puerto Rico was sent crashing down to be counted out 41 seconds into the session.
