1983-12-13 Marvin Camel w rsc 5 (15) Roddy MacDonald, Metro Centre, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada - IBF. Referee: Bob Beaton. Contesting the inaugural IBF title, the former WBC champion, Camel (186), mainly controlled the fight with southpaw jabs and counters as the slower MacDonald (177) came looking for him. Dropped in the second and third rounds by vicious body shots, MacDonald looked to be on the way out before dropping Camel in the fifth with a right to the jaw. On getting up, Camel immediately unleashed another cracking body shot that had MacDonald down again, claiming it to be a low blow. Although the referee was unsighted, after consulting with the judges he stopped the fight in Camel’s favour on the 2.49 mark due to MacDonald being down for at least 15 seconds.
