1984-01-14 Milton McCrory w rsc 6 (12) Milton Guest, Sterling Heights Premier Centre, Detroit, Michigan, USA - WBC. Referee: Zack Clayton. Knocked down twice by left hooks to the head in the opening session did not augur well for Guest (147) and the champion continued to hammer him in the second, cutting him over the left eye while giving him a steady beating. Although outboxed and outclassed, Guest gamely stuck to his task, but he was dropped again in the third, fifth and sixth sessions before McCrory, punishing him with both hands, stepped it up in the sixth. Now it was just a matter of time and McCrory eventually found the finishing blow, a right uppercut to the jaw. Despite Guest making it to his feet the referee decided that he’d seen enough and stopped the contest six seconds after the bell had ended the round.
