1984-01-14 [[Ray Mancini]] w rsc 3 (15) [[Bobby Chacon]], Lawlor Events Centre, Reno, Nevada, USA - WBA. Referee: Richard Steele. Although starting slowly, Chacon (133¾) warmed up in the second session as he began to counter the champion strongly and the third round started with every expectation that the advertised ‘Rumble in Reno’ was about to take off. That was before Chacon took a cracking left hook to the jaw which drove him into the ropes with Mancini (134) in hot pursuit. Mancini was relentless, throwing punches from both hands, and with Chacon cut and swollen on the left eye and not fighting back the referee called it off on the 1.17 mark.
