The southpaw champion, Kwon (111¾), was out in front, having dropped Castillo (110¾) in round five with a series of combination punches, when an accidental clash of heads cut him on the forehead and brought about a technical decision in his favour after the referee ended the fight at 2.29 of the 12th round.
