1984-03-17 Edwin Rosario w rsc 1 (12) Roberto Elizondo, Hiram Bithorn Stadium, San Juan, Puerto Rico - WBC. Referee: Davy Pearl. Returning after a long lay-off due to a wrist injury Rosario (134½) showed no aversion to using the suspect right hand, being quickly into action with a big right over the top that buckled the challenger’s knees. Although Elizondo (134½) remained upright and tried to fight back another right dropped him to his knees for ‘five’, and having taken the mandatory ‘eight’ he was back in the fray. Driven to the ropes by a furious two-fisted attack, with Elizondo looking bewildered he was rescued by the referee with 63 seconds of the opening session still remaining after he had been put down by a heavy right to the head.
