1984-04-15 Harry Arroyo w rsc 14 (15) Charlie Choo Choo Brown, Sands Hotel, Atlantic City, New Jersey, USA - IBF. Referee: Larry Hazzard. Coming in as a late replacement for Cornelius Boza-Edwards who was struck down by flu, Arroyo (134¾) took advantage of his good fortune to drop the champion with a solid left hook in the second and rock him badly with the same punch in the third and fifth. Giving away height and reach advantage, Brown (134), cut over the left eye in the seventh, came back well with good rights to the head in the middle rounds before Arroyo picked it up again to control the latter stages with the jab and rights over the top. In the 14th Brown was stopped in his tracks by a heavy right, and with Arroyo exerting steady pressure and the champion not hitting back the referee intervened on the 2.07 mark.
