After dropping the unbeaten challenger twice in the second round with southpaw left hooks, Penalosa (107¾), looking both sharp and strong, got so much on top that contest became one sided. At 2.31 of the ninth, with Kim (108) under a lot of pressure and a badly beaten fighter his corner tossed in the towel.
