1984-06-22 Aaron Pryor w pts 15 Nicky Furlano, Varsity Stadium, Toronto, Canada - IBF. Referee: Harold Davis. Scorecards: 146-139, 146-138, 148-140. Having been out of the ring for nine months, Pryor (139½) came back to defend the IBF title bestowed upon him and quickly had Furlano (140) in trouble when dropping him twice with left hooks in the opening round. To his credit, Furlano came back well to make it competitive, showing good movement and the ability to keep away from further trouble, and bothered Pryor at times when unloading his best punches. However, the champion was never really hurt and at the end of the day threw too many punches from all kinds of angles for Furlano to deal with.
