1984-07-22 Chong-Pal Park w co 11 (15) Murray Sutherland, Changchung Gym, Seoul, South Korea - IBF. Referee: Tomas Evaresto. In what was a hard fight, Park (167½), who was dropped by a left to the temple in the second round, came roaring back to knock the champion over in the fifth following several heavy blows to the body. Although Sutherland (167¼) boxed well on the back foot Park caught up with him again in the eighth, decking him with left hooks and right crosses to the head, and despite the Scottish-born fighter coming back well with jabs and right hands he was put under more pressure in the 11th. Beaten down by combination punches, although Sutherland fought back with more rights and lefts he was eventually put down with body shots and counted out on the 1.12 mark.
