1985-06-30 [[Jimmy Paul]] w rsc 14 (15) [[Robin Blake]], Tropicana Hotel, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - IBF. Referee: Joey Curtis. The first five rounds saw the challenger using the ring well along with the southpaw jab to confuse Paul (134¾), who was probably expecting a tear-up from the opening bell. After being hurt in the fifth by a big right hook, Paul began to find the range and from the seventh he began to dominate as Blake (134) tired. Floored in the ninth, having taken a big left hook and right hand to the head, Blake came back bravely before being dropped again in the 12th, this time by a solid left. By now it was just a matter of time and in the 14th Paul kept the punches going until Blake turned away to be rescued by the referee with 19 seconds of the session remaining.
