1985-08-10 Hector Camacho w pts 12 Jose Luis Ramirez, Riviera Hotel, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - WBC. Referee: Mills Lane. Scorecards: 118-111, 119-109, 119-112. Too fast and too clever for a tough champion who never took a backward step, Camacho (134) boxed his way to the title by a wide margin. As much as Ramirez (134¾) tried he couldn’t catch his rival and in the third he was dropped and suffered a broken nose when hit by a solid southpaw jab and two follow-up lefts. Round after round Camacho outspeeded Ramirez, landing good jabs and dancing away, and only in the latter rounds when both men tired did the champion have any success, but even then he was unable to sustain any real attack and had to accept the inevitable.
