1985-11-08 [[Victor Callejas]] w rtd 6 (15) [[Loris Stecca]], Sports Palace, Rimini, Italy - WBA. Referee: Stan Christodoulou. Pressuring the champion right from the start despite a temporary blip, Stecca (121) seemed to be well on his way to regaining the title until running into trouble in the sixth round. With a minute remaining in that round, Callejas (121¼) took the fight to the Italian and floored him with a terrific left-right to the jaw. Although Stecca, badly cut on the left eye, got to his feet he was again smashed to the canvas before the bell came to his rescue. It was no surprise when Stecca was retired during the interval after suffering a suspected broken jaw.
