1985-12-21 [[Slobodan Kacar]] w pts 15 [[Eddie Mustafa Muhammad]], Sports Palace, Pesaro, Italy - IBF. Referee: Joe Cortez. Scorecards: 144-141, 145-143, 143-145. With Michael Spinks now up among the heavyweights, Kacar (173½) and Muhammad (173½) were looking to put their seal on the IBF version of the title, but at times it seemed that neither of them were that bothered. There were far too many clinches and while the former Olympic champion looked amateurish at times, Muhammad was not the fighter he had once been. Kacar, cut on the forehead in the fourth, appeared to be ahead at the halfway stage with his jab picking up the points and although Muhammad occasionally hurt his rival with right crosses he was unable to follow up. Tiring fast and with Muhammad being warned for butting, Kacar just about kept going to take the split points decision.
