1986-02-09 Marvin Johnson w rsc 7 (15) Leslie Stewart, Market Square Arena, Indianapolis, Indiana, USA - WBA. Referee: Franco Priami. Johnson (174½) became the first man to win a light heavyweight title three times after stopping Stewart (175) after 56 seconds of the seventh round had elapsed. Cut on his right eye in the first round, Stewart stuck to his boxing but found it difficult to keep his southpaw opponent at bay as he continuously rumbled forward throwing punches. Johnson was waned several times for butting, but it seemed to make no difference. Both men had battled hard during the opening five rounds, but in the sixth Stewart was badly cut over the left eye and with Johnson pouring in solid shots in the seventh and the blood flowing the referee called it off after 56 seconds
