1986-05-23 Barry Michael w rsc 4 (15) Mark Fernandez, Festival Hall, Melbourne, Australia - IBF. Billy Males. Enjoying slight height and reach advantages over his switch-hitting challenger, Michael (130) quickly got down to business with good body punches, but had to wait until the fourth round until he could really get to work. After being hurt by a left hook to the jaw early on, Michael eventually ripped into Fernandez (129½), flooring him with a smashing right-left to the head. When the American got up he was forced into a neutral corner by a volley of head blows before being rescued by the referee with 33 seconds of the session still left.
