1986-06-13 Hector Camacho w pts 12 Edwin Rosario, Madison Square Garden, Manhattan, NYC, New York, USA - WBC. Referee: Arthur Mercante. Scorecards: 115-113, 115-113, 113-114. Starting fast, the southpaw champion made a difficult target for Rosario (134) as he moved from side to side, but by the third round the latter began to close the distance to crack in some solid right-hand shots. The fourth session saw Camacho (135) cut over the left eye, while in the fifth Rosario chased him down after buckling his knees with another right hand. All good fighters find a way and that is what Camacho did from the sixth through to the 11th, as he got his punches in and used the ring intelligently. With Rosario giving it everything in the 11th he wobbled Camacho with a big left hook and walked through the latter’s defences right to the final bell, but was unable to find the finishing blow.
