23 August Miguel Lora w rsc 6 (12) Enrique Sanchez, Convention Centre, Miami, Florida, USA - WBC. Referee: Davy Pearl. Although the challenger started brightly he was put down by Lora (118) in the first round by a left hook and dumped twice more, once in the fourth when taking in fearful beating, and again in the sixth before the referee rescued him at 2.30 of the sixth following the final knockdown. Despite being stopped, Sanchez (118) felt that he was quite capable of carrying on as it had been his plan to let Lora burn himself out.
