1986-09-10 Dennis Andries w rsc 9 (12) Tony Sibson, Alexandra Pavilion, Muswell Hill, London, England - WBC. Referee: Sid Nathan. It was an uphill fight all the way for Sibson (172) as he found Andries (174½) just too big and strong for him and even when he landed his best punches they seemed to bounce off the champion. Cut over the right eye and hurt by solid blows in the fourth, Sibson was in even worse shape at the end of the fifth when saved by the bell after taking a battering. Surprisingly, Sibson took the next two sessions as Andries had a breather, but when the latter opened up in the eighth and carried the pounding over into the ninth the writing was on the wall. It was clear at that stage that Sibson had little left to offer and after taking four counts he was rescued on the 2.04 mark.
