22 November Bernardo Pinango w rsc 15 (15) Simon Skosana, Rand Stadium, Johannesburg, South Africa - WBA. Referee: Uriel Aquilera. Going into the final round there was not much between the two men, both having been down in the seventh, and most fans were unclear as to who deserved the decision most at that stage. Unfortunately for the courageous Skosana (114¾), badly cut over the left eye in the eighth, he elected to mix it with Pinango[ (118), who had got away with low blows throughout, and came off worse. Having been smashed into the ropes from lefts and rights to the jaw, the ringside doctor examined the challenger before allowing the fight to continue, only for the latter to be laid low by a left hook and counted out on the 2.18 mark.
