In a fight for the title vacated by [[Dodie Boy Penalosa]], Choi (106½) survived a fifth-round knockdown to overcome Park (108) and win the title on points. Choi, a squat, but busy infighter, came on strong in the latter rounds, his overarm rights being especially difficult for Park to fathom out.
